Norstar sailed with friends Deb & Gerald offshore off Myrtle Beach. A race was in the works with Time In A Bottle, good friends, Joe & Darlene's Pearson 424. Very light and variable winds kept the race less than exciting! We decided to have some fun with our competitor and pulled close along side and Beth opened fire with the water cannon! We soaked Joe and crew Rico but Beth spared Darlene who was soaking up some rays on the front deck. A cookout later in the day was planned back at the Marina.

Bird Island Anchorage
After a wonderful day sail offshore, we anchored in the cove behind Bird Island for the night. A bit chilly in the evening but warmed up the cabin cooking dinner. Very peaceful out here when the winds are 10 knots or less. Took the dinghy to the beach and walked around to the ocean side. Some great photos from the high dunes overlooking the anchorage.
Bald Head Island
We look forward to our annual pilgrimage to BHI. This year we were joined by a dozen other boats as part os the North Strand Sail & Power Squadron. We left a couple of days before the other boats and took the inside route as the offshore weather was a little dicey. Made good time and rode the outgoing tide from Southport and hit 9 knots SOG! Arrived to our slip on the T- Head of C dock. Sweet!!!
Enjoyed some fantastic Island time on this beautiful and relaxing destination. We had carried our new folding bikes so getting around the Island was a breeze. More practical then renting a golf cart and a little physical activity can't hurt! Also brought our inflatable kayak and took it out on the creek behind the marina.
After a wonderful 4 days a of hanging out with our Power Squadron friends it was time to head back to Little River. Offshore for us this time and awesome sail it was. New record time dock to dock in just over 6 hours.

Family Day
We had both kids in town for a short visit so of course we had to go for a sail on Norstar. We had great weather with calm seas, slight cloud cover and winds 10-15! Christopher slept while Jessica and I hung our feet over the bow and got soaked! We laughed so hard! We finally talked John into joining us and eventually Chris did the same.
We went to Bird Island to go for a swim and relax! It felt so refreshing! We cooked out on the grill for dinner and talked the time away until we sadly had to pull up anchor and head for Lightkeepers. Today brought back so many memories of our years boating with the children and all the fun times we shared. I am so blessed to have this time together!

Mingles Sailing
We took my sister Kim's family (from NJ) out for a sail. Calm conditions on the ocean without very light winds and flat seas. We were able to sail slowly which was good for a leisurely day. No white knuckles for our family! We followed a shrimp boat and watched the many dolphins happily eating and playing with their now full bellies. It was great seeing so many out there. We also anchored up at Bird Island and John rowed everyone to the beach, 2 at a time. Playing in the water and walking on the hot sand was fun for all! It was so good to get together and share our life with family.
