After a wonderful day sail offshore, we anchored in the cove behind Bird Island for the night. A bit chilly in the evening but warmed up the cabin cooking dinner. Very peaceful out here when the winds are 10 knots or less. Took the dinghy to the beach and walked around to the ocean side. Some great photos from the high dunes overlooking the anchorage.

Bald Head Island
We look forward to our annual pilgrimage to BHI. This year we were joined by a dozen other boats as part os the North Strand Sail & Power Squadron. We left a couple of days before the other boats and took the inside route as the offshore weather was a little dicey. Made good time and rode the outgoing tide from Southport and hit 9 knots SOG! Arrived to our slip on the T- Head of C dock. Sweet!!!
Enjoyed some fantastic Island time on this beautiful and relaxing destination. We had carried our new folding bikes so getting around the Island was a breeze. More practical then renting a golf cart and a little physical activity can't hurt! Also brought our inflatable kayak and took it out on the creek behind the marina.
After a wonderful 4 days a of hanging out with our Power Squadron friends it was time to head back to Little River. Offshore for us this time and awesome sail it was. New record time dock to dock in just over 6 hours.
